Thoughts on this one....

I just had a call from a BMW dealer with the offer of another car, it being near the end of the Quarter and all that. This was out of the blue and I have not been specifically looking for this particular car, in fact I am beginning to tire of looking for a new car. It looks like an OK deal though.

BMW E92 320d M Sport Coupe, mineral white metallic paint, black leather and the single option of rain sensor and auto lights (!). I think the list price is about £34000 with metallic. The price being offered is £26845, and a subsidised finance rate of 7.1%. So its about 22% discount. Standard spec has leather, cruise etc. No bluetooth or decent music options though.

I had a look on the website and this car needs 19" (231M alloys?), I don't like the standard 18" alloys. It is poverty spec too which may come and bite when it comes to sell it on.

Not sure what to make of it. Thoughts.

It's a 22% discount, ask them to upgrade the wheels and see what they say

My thoughts exactly.
If they upgrade to 313m wheels and offer you a healthy trade discount on the Alpine upgrade I'd say that was a nice car to step into and a solid deal.

There are a number of Bluetooth options out there - I wouldn't let that preclude me from doing a deal on an otherwise well-suited car.

That said, I personally wouldn't have a car without full ipod control and I wouldn't have leather unless it was heated, but that's just me.

I had a 320d E92 Peter, didn't really do it for me, I don't think the engine suited the E92. Nothing wrong with the car-as such, just not exciting.

I was a very similar spec to that one, I paid £26k

Granted, it's a nice car, but for the majority of folk on here who know their onions from their onions, just don't think it cuts it.

Would be a belter if you were buying it for your missus (who wouldn't be in the know) but don't think you'd be happy.

Just my 2p but I'm an options-whore .

Thought as much. Not averse to a 320d, I had one many moons ago as an E91 and the power and economy are up since then. Think I will let this one pass me by......

That's more expensive (inc vat) than the 2 2005/6 M6's I've been offerred this week, plus one of them I would own at the end...

Maybe, but for £40k+ (I'm guessing) of brand new, cheap to run Merc Cab on your drive for three years it will cost you £19k over 3 years.

Otherwise there are some much cheaper deals for c250's.

Each to their own.

If you can overcome the bluetooth leather without heated seats is a big no no for me.
