lol I was thinking "didn't I just see a thread like this?!"

Sounds like they just assumed based off your other mods, but it looks like this fuel pump issue is quite popular lately so it shouldn't come as a surprise to them.

Good luck, keep us posted!

Basicly asking if I had a "chip"

I told them no and they told me they are going to do some further test on the car to see exactly what the problem is because they assumed I must have done something to the ECU because I had exhaust and Suspension..

I told them No and told them to feel free and look to see if there are any mods done to the ECU.

I will keep you posted to see wha they say...
did you have the Procede? If so, i hope you removed it before dropping it off.

I think it was just an assumption from your other mods, like you said. Will be interesting to see what they say.

wow your dealer actually pokes that far into your car? What a bunch of losers.

We have many an M3 or M5 come in with work done to them, exhaust and all. Bald rear tires is the norm lol. We dont say a word, just do the work and off they go, another satisfied customer.

We did have this one repeat idiot with a red M3 that always left his SMG in the hardest, fastest shift level (all the way up), and never let up on the car...always beat the ever living crap out of it. Routinely taking the car to Atlantic City twice a week, speeds over 100+ for extended time. His excuse for doing so was 'its a sports car, so I should be able to drive it all the time like sports car, right?'

We replaced the rear end twice in his car, it was clunking so bad from the car powershifting all over town and on the highway. The third time he had to pay for it. After forking $1700 for a rear end over, hes quite nice to it now.

well if its true it will be a good test to see

the question is are they asking because they want to try and deny your warranty, or becuase they think you flashed it and if they flash it back it will be OK

and as for the guy with the m3 i dont see whats wrong with that he did, he drove his car 100+mph so what?

I have NEVER had a good experience at Irvine BMW-- and I never learn. I have tried to buy a car there 2 times and both times, the CA was such a dick, I just walked out. I figured the service department was better... the one time I was there, I swore I'd never go back. Hopefully it is Irvine BMW-- that's just one more excuse to avoid the place.

yeah, i also had a bad experience dealing with a CA at Irvine BMW. He would never return phone calls regarding the order/production number, and I actually had to drive down there physically to ask him. I too am interested in knowing which dealer this is, as i probably will be servicing my car there..

It's not like a bad fuel pump is any indication of ecu mods as it's a fairly common defect on stock 335's and, if anything, PROcede might exacerbate a defect that's bound to surface within the warranty anyway. They obviously pressured you due to the exhaust. I truly hope that they don't screw you on this, but I seriously doubt that they can. Good luck, and keep us posted.

That sucks ADHD. This fuel pump/PROcede trend is getting scarry, regardless of cause/exacerbation/production-date arguements... the stats are looking bad. I can't wait to see if the replacement pumps hold up of if the FP is the Achilles’ heel of the car when it comes to soft mods. Is there a consensus on the production window on failed FP's? Have any post Nov-06' pumps failed under stock or modded conditions?

And why would they call the owner if they suspected ECU modding when they can check that in house so easilly (if traditional reflash is suspected)? I'm guessing that they checked the ECU and when that came back as stock, they went fishing for a confession.
