DEPO Headlight Questions (Xenon)
I have adaptive xenon stock bmw headlights, but to get rid of the amber reflector look, I want to get DEPO's. Will I be able to just transfer my xenon bulbs to these DEPO's without a problem (or with just the purchase of a pc module)? Is this a big downgrade or what, seems like most go from stock halogens to DEPO's but I just want to get rid of the amber without downgrading my visibility. TIA

So wait...you have the stock xenons, and you want to kill it with fire and downgrade to DEPOs so you can get rid of the amber? Oh my. Wrong approach, one might equivocate that to using a chainsaw to trim one's toenails. Instead, you can open the headlights and remove the amber. It's not easy, but it's doable. I'll dig around the forums and see if I can find the poster who did it.

It's essentially a cutout of some kind made to get rid of the amber--I've seen most made out of vinyl, and I feel like I've seen one out of a frosted plexi-glass like material too, if memory suits me right. Anyway, you basically peel/stick it over the amber section of the headlight, and it covers most of it. It's an OK product, it won't look nearly as good as getting the amber removed from the inside of the light (but it's also not that simple, I think you need to find a piece from a euro headlight that is increasingly hard to come by), so it's your call.

Hey, I found this thread about a guy clearing his headlights:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14156 Now mind you, he's doing it with the halogens, I beg of you, please don't do it yourself. It's a 3k mistake. Send it to the pros like M.A.C. or OSS (I think he can do this?) |
