highway limpmode
i've recently taken my car to the dealer, and this is what they came back with:
""We have scanned your vehicle to determine the source of the engine light coming on. The fault is knock sensor #1 & #2 exceeding the parameters--problem is exacerbated by high outside temperatures and the use of fuels with low octane numbers. The correction is to program the vehicle with a certain software version." Just to confirm, doesn't this mean that this limp mode would go away if i just replace the gas tank with new batch of gas? please help.

If you are stock that is really weird and should have them look at it more, if not you were trying to run too high of map without enough octane and you went into limp mode then you're doing it wrong.

i have procede v5 and i run shell octane 91.
i have a custom stereo system, and it requires me to change it back to stock so they can update the software. so if i don't have to do this then that would be ideal. anyone know that this can be due to a bad batch of gas or some how the gas station gave me the wrong gas? I don't understand why a update in the software would do anything?

With the new version of Procede, you will go into limp Mode if you don't cycle the ignition and reset adaption.

Cycle ignition = press the ignition once without pressing the clutch. Perform this action 3x. Than go into the Procede command center select mode 3, than reset 11-1 if you have a manual. Good luck...

does anyone have any other suggestions, or anyone that has experienced the same thing, i would really like to know what's going on with my car.
the dealer is having difficulty communicating with my car due to my upgrade stereo and more recent temperature gauge. I didn't know that swapping the temp gauge would create such a problem for me. please help!

I'm going limp at highway speeds on occasion in wot or speeds over 85 mph. I use chevron 93 and run jb4 Map 1. I am getting a VANOS code but had my VANOS replaced as well as hpfp and software update just a month ago. Scheduled to take it in next week but would rather solve the issue myself without having to pull out the dci and jb...again.

11881 is a knock sensor fault code. Since it's reoccurring with our without a tune, the dealership needs to fix it. It has nothing to do with resetting adaptations, running different maps, or even running bad gas. You need to get your software updated and/or your knock sensor replaced. I know you're avoiding it because of your stereo but you are just prolonging the inevitable. No one will be able to fix it but your dealership. Let them.
