If you are getting misfires in the same bank with Procede
So I was having this intermittent issue with my V5 where I was getting intermittent mis-fires in bank 2. Misfire in cylinders 4-5-6 and error codes relating to communicating with the bank 2 O2 sensor, but when the Procede was removed the car ran fine.
So after a ton of chasing around this gremlin, I took a closer look at the harness, specifically on the yellow harness, which from I understand, intercepts o2 signals and saw that the wires from the procede to the yellow loom and noticed that they started tearing and were hanging by a few strands of wire, which would explain the intermittent O2 sensor issues. So I re-soldered the wires and re-shrink tubed the wires and everything has been great for the past 1,000 miles. So if your car is running great stock, but when the procede is installed and you are getting random mis-fires on a single bank, check the yellow loom to make sure all the wires are secure. thought I would add to the E90post knowledge base |

Were the wires frayed at the lug crimp?
I can understand if the harness is regularly removed and installed, where continual to and fro cable adjustment can cause fraying of the wires, but I can't see it being a common issue. All the same, your fix for your issue provides great insight and food for thought for people with similar symptoms.
