Hi All
I ordered a Motorized Hide Away License Plate Holder, for my car I'm trying to see if any of you have ever delt with something like this. ::: "This is what it saids on the site Measuring from the front edge of the bumper, you need a flat area 9" deep by 3"wide to mount the bracket. If you have this flat area, this will fit. The unit will add 1.25" to the bottom of the bumper"::: If you have, please acknowledge me, thank you. Thank you guys for your time. If any of you would like to try and help this is the website http://www.swiftmotorsports.com/prod...oducts_id=3922 Thank yo so much. Last edited by GiovanniE90; 06-22-2011 at 09:40 AM.. |

Its a simple power and Ground with a switch. That's it!
If its the non motorized then you just mount it to the bottom of the car. Naturally you will be putting holes in your bumper or under pan eitherway. |

Well, In new york you need to have a plate in the Front. My Car looks sick with out the license plate, with it on, looks horrible, give the car a flush look, i have my license plate in the back which i dont mind. Then the front license plate, does not look good at all in any car, having drills in the front BUMPER AHH!! na man i cant do it. I'm not driving a rice-car, I'm just trying to have a look that you wont see and not only I would appreciate but other would appreciate as well. That is why I want to do it |

I agree, its not ricey, in texas I need a front plate, but sure as hell not drilling holes in the front of my bumper. I think the motorized one up front is a good idea to keep the clean lines and the ability to avoid a ticket... The first comment might have thought you meant the rear plate. good luck im curious how this goes.

Ever better solution that the tow hook mounts: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...brandName=Bell
That part. Let me look for the thread where I saw this and I'll edit it in. |

I'll let you know how it goes, I ordered the motorzied license plate, they said their on back order so I'm guessing next week or something. Called a place to see if they can install, they actually told me they can and they have done it before to a lot of BMW's.
But yea I think its going to be SICK having it, I'm not really going to be showing off or anything I'm just going to have it on when I'm driving in the streets and when I jump on the highway I'll have it off to have a nice clean look. Any car looks sick with out a license plate in front so imagine your car with out it. I was actually thinking about doing the auto zone thing for the no wholes in the front type thing but I was like you know, your still going to see the place, might as well just have nothing, have a nice clean look. I'll post up pics and let you guys know how he did it. It was kind of hard for me to find information but I'll leave this post up so people can use this. |

i agree with the tow hook mount, i made mine for about 8-10 dollars. (still beats 60 dollars.)
1.get a fine threaded bolt that goes perfect into the tow hook hole, 2.buy a door push plate from home depot( break or cut off a little bit AFTER the second hole) 3. screws and nuts to hold LP on 4. Rubber stopper on the back of the Push plate so it doesn't move Drill a hole on the plate install and enjoy ![]() |

Hey OP, did you end up installing this? Where did you tap into for the power? Also where exactly did you install the plate? Under bumper? Between the grills? Pics would be awesome. Thanks.
