Hi Everybody, my names Mark.
Just got my first BMW a couple weeks ago and must say, love this car. 09 LCI 320D steptronic 43000 km Black with black interior and gloss black trim IDrive / Sunroof Just wondering if any one can confirm the bulbs required for the Angel Eyes. My car has the Xenon Adaptive headlights and I read that the bulb is different from the normal xenon headlights. Thanks |

Hi Mark,
David here nice to meet you. I also bought 09 320D, 2months ago and already done 5000+ km. Currently done 30,000km. How much did you get it for? I only just upgade my angel eye last Wednesday! Now here is how it go. You have 3 choice according to your price range. 100% fit your LCI 320d 1) GP Thunder 8500k - $25 DAYTIME - These look pretty unevenly lit when you look at them head on, but if you sit in another car and look in your rear view you notice that the rings aren't that bad pretty nicely lit. You can only see the outer ring if you look at them through certain angles though, otherwise the outer ring looks a bit dim during the daytime. The inner ring is VERY bright though and has a nice tint of blue if that's what you want, looks really nice andI got a lot of compliments. Definitely a huge upgrade over stock. When it starts to get less sunny out I think these angels look pretty beautiful and are nice and bright. Not too visible under direct sunlight. I personally love the colour of these and highly recommend them. NIGHTIME - These lights DIM to a very ugly yellow when you turn your headlights on and they look pretty shitty to be honest. If you run your Angels only at night these actually look reallly blue. Quick observation - I noticed on cars with headlights with pitting from chips these lights actually look a bit more green/yellow whereas on a headlight thats in perfect condition these look 10 times better and have a very white colour with a slight blueish hue. OVERALL - Good in the daytime, pretty weak at night... awesome for the price... have a nice tint of blue 2) City Vision $150 http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...el-663-20.html DAYTIME - Their visibility under direct sunlight is almost the same as GP Thunder it might even be a bit less since they are a lot more white. The rings are more DEFINED and have a crisp icey white LED colour vs the Halogens which have unevenly dispersed light(GPT). I think the GP's may be slightly more visible, but I think its just due to the bright inner light of the GP's and the fact that the CV's give a very crisp and defined white light vs. a more randomly dispersed light from the GP bulbs. NIGHTIME - These smoke the GP Thunders at night time since they don't dim out. Look very nice, crisp white LED with defined rings. Not overly bright, but look nice. 3) Lux H8 - V3 $250 http://luxangeleyes.com/products DAYTIME - These look AMAZING during the daytime and are much more visible than the other lights. The outer ring still looks dim if you look at them from certain angles, but that has to do with the design of the headlights. When you look at these from another vehicles viewpoint they look beautiful and stunning. Pretty good visibility in the sun and when the sun isn't directly on them they are VERY visible. Very well defined crisp lights with even lighting. These are your best option for a plug and play LED application. NIGHTIME - There is no comparison, these are better than the others. Very crisp well defined evenly lit lights that look just AMAZING. Run only your angels at night and these look VERY BRIGHT and PURE WHITE... I Highly recommend this option if you have the money. These KILL the GP's at night and are slightly better than the CV's during the day. Installation of these angel eye took me 40mins for someone who have abosulately no experience on the car. I reckon i can install these under 10mins now. (I don't even know how to change tyre, just recently learn to change engine oil) Give me a buzz if you need anything. Cheers |

Hi David,
Picked mine up from QLD for 41k (A Bargain I thought)and drove back to Melb. Nice drive until i hit an animal. (only a small one but made my fog light loose) I found this on www.realoem.com F HEADLIGHT XENON/ALC BULB H8 12V 35W For vehicles with Adaptive Headlights BULB 12V 55W H3 So will those still fit the Adaptive headlight? |

41k? wtf Good on ya awesome deal.
Mine doesn't have sunroof but picked up at 25,000km for $45.5k Gota mine from Brisbane drove it down to Sydney. Hit a animal?, crap not a good start haha. At least you are safe. Trust me on the angel light. they 100% fit. Our LCI E90 code are "H8" and these are all H8 bulbs. "I just fit it last Wednesday" and i have exact same model as you with Xenon Head light. PS: I spent about 5hours going through all the available angel eyes before i bought the angel eye. Last edited by playwithonehand; 06-24-2011 at 02:28 AM.. |

Hi Mark,
Welcome. My E92 had adaptive headlihgts and I still used an H8 bulb. Interesting that you're being pointed in the direction of an H3. The only way to be sure, is to pull the bulb out, are you able to do so? For a cheap, quick solution, most people go with the GP Thunders for some whiteness to their angel eyes... I ran HID angel eyes which were really bright (some say too bright) I'm now looking to get Lux AEs but they're outta stock for a while... |

bmroxm5s HID angel eye is brute for your eye. You need to wear 3pairs of sunny in order to look into his angel eye.
Lux won't have stock until 7th of Aug and they are the brightest "LED" angel eye money can buy. |

Welcome mate - post pics when you get a chance!
As for angel eyes, I'm running some GP Thunder 7500k. Angel eye mods were never really a concern for me but Jeef Beef on here was getting a set so for $20 it was worth a go. I'm content with the result considering the price because personally I can't see myself spending over $100 on a couple of light bulbs. From what I've seen though the LUX seem to be a very good product and may indeed be worth the price. Last edited by sbce90; 06-26-2011 at 09:21 AM.. Reason: typo |

Welcome to the forum,
I have the Weisslicht LED angel eyes from Jlevi Streetwerks. cost me $150. Personaly I dont think they are very bright, just slightly brighter than stock & have a white colour. But angel eyes upgrade isnt a big concern for me. I guess I could have opted for a cheaper alternative. |

If you want to stick to oem 18 wheel, any 3series oem wheel will fit on our 320d no problem. Good way to check is realoem, type your VIN -> 36:wheel -> 36 15 LIGHT ALLOY RIM. Then you will find the whole list of OEM wheel thats compatible to your 320d. If you want to get a aftermarket 18inch wheel just remember to few things. Bolt pattern 5x 120 Front: 18x8 ET34 Rear: 18x8.5 ET37 I am sure u can also fit other measurements but these numbers will be the safe number that will keep your tyre from rubbing the fenders. Also with the tyre i recommend. Front : 225/40/18 Rear: 255/35/18 Thats all i know Good luck |
