Bumper Plugs
I'm looking for something to fix the holes in my bumper from the license plate holder that was installed at the dealership. Looking for a cheap fix. I've checked out **********s but I feel like 58 dollars was too much for basically 2 painted screws. I have touch up paint for my car already so just looking for a screw or something like it to fix it. If you don't mind can you post pics of your front bumper with the proposed option? Thank you.

The price on the website does reflect a quantity of two bumper plugs and should be $27.99 for the pair. I'll go ahead and shoot you over a PM with more details!

I went to Lowe's and in the hardware isle was a specialty hardware cabinet with a section that was called "automotive". I found a plastic plug that I had to use a file and shave down till it fit the hole in my bumper. It was like 0.89 cents or something for two. Then I went home and lightly sanded it down and cleaned it and started to apply a few coats of BMW alpine white touch up paint. Make sure you put at least 1 or 2 layers of clear coat just because your front end gets a lot of debris when you drive.

You'll find their bumper plugs on the top of the list. $24.95/pair and they match to your exact color.

first...greetings to all...just got a '09 328i and was looking for a forum and found this one...looks like a good one. As I start getting into the car...I'm sure you will start seeing questions from me.
I'm not positive, but I almost sure that on my car, there are no holes in the front bumper to mount a plate. The plate "bracket" appears to clip to the underside of the bumper, and the plate to the bracket. Am I mistaken?? But if you do need to plug holes...I have used the ones from bumperplugs.com and they work great. |

Don't get the overpriced bumper plugs.
1) Mine didn't match my silver very well, so I had to repaint them 2) you have to drill the holes even bigger to use them 3) When you're done, they're still ugly I eventually got some curb rash and just decided to repaint the whole bumper. However, if you don't need a respray, in hindsight I'd sooner just leave the holes than use bumperplugs again. Another option might be to fill the holes with putty and use youre touch-up paint. It won't look 100%, but will be better than the plugs and probably better than the holes. Having a pro do it would look even better, but a lot more $ and probably not much better (without a full respray). If you're set on the plugs, just get something at the hardware store. |
