Best downpipe for a N54 is a AR Design, Active Autowerke, or Macht Schnell.

All are 3", all have precision welds, all fit well, all offer identical gains(for all intensive purposes), all taper down gradually to the stock mids.

This may be the single most, if not in the top 3, redundantly discussed topics on the Turbo Engine boards.

Intents and purposes. Just saying.

Other than that, agree with everything above.

PS, Bakeme, I assume you're just being a dork.

Yes, I figured I'd mix it up a bit since this thread comes up 3 and 4 times a day.

Just make sure you get catless pipes.

AR, AA, MS, ETS, or BB Fab (if you can still get them). BB Fab is on the same level as AR. I have AR myself. Couldn't be happier with the fitment.

I would agree, AR have beautiful DP's but you pay for them, I think AA is the best price/condition.

Ar would be my suggestion, we take .5 hours off of install time when people are getting AR downpipes because they fit so well.

Let me know when you decide

DP's are about fitment. If your budget isn't tight go with the ones they listed above. I run raceland downpipes and work fine...but had to do some minor adjustments for fitment.

What is best? How can you ask us what is best when you have not identified what best means to you?

For some people best means lowest price.
For some people best means the noisiest.
For some people best means the most power making.
For some people best means the ones that are most eco friendly.

Get your act together and use some of that goo in your head called brain...

This thread is a bit old, I'm not sure if we offered our DP's back then but if we did, we'd surely be on this list

3" mandrel bent, 304 grade stainless steel with a cast mouth design. Our V2's arrive early next week!
