PROcede v1.4 1/4 mile run - 12.88@109.1 w/FX-2
OK, let me start off by saying until I can go to a track and do an actual timed run, the acuracy of the FX-2 is still up in the air.

Wow, nice times. Congrats.
Just the same, I cant wait till you go to a track and get these numbers. Not saying these arent true, its just that we dont know how accurate they are for definitive proof. Those numbers on stock RFT's are badass though! By the way, hows the shifting now with the CDV delete? Big difference?

0-100mph - 12.88sec
But you traped 109 mph in the 1/4. with the same time as you got on your 0-100.

Yep, my experiences are the same...I think DTC on and DSC auto is the best way to launch a PROcede-equipped 6AT 335i. btw -- NICE NUMBERS!!!!! I KNOW that the PROcede-equipped 335i can absolutely do < 13 sec. 1/4 mi.; not sure about your 0-60mph time of 4.35 sec...it's possible but I'm thinking more like 4.5-4.6 sec. with a 2.00 sec. 60 ft. time (I got 1.95 sec. 60 ft. time when my Vector FX1 clocked me getting 4.50 sec. 0-60mph and 13.02 sec. 1/4 mi.). Great job though!

so you're 'not sure about your 0-60 time', but you believe the 1/4 mile result ?
Jesus..... I can't wait until you see this device compared to an NHRA time slip...... it'll be disapointing. Driver72 got a 1.9 60' time and ran a 13.0 at an NHRA timed track...... Think you were running down hill mate........ |

that 0-100 in the same time as the quarter mile at 109 makes no sense.
doesnt bode well in showing off how 'accurate' these things are.

when i hit 2.0 at 60ft with procede i get about 13.1. this is only over a couple of runs, but that is a large difference from 12.88.

First off, I have this car to have fun in and that is exactly what I am doing.
Second, I said in the first post that I don't know for sure how accurate the FX-2 is. The accuracy will be discovered when I get a chance to go to a real track. One thing I do know is that the FX-2 is consistent. As for the 0-110 in 12.88, well I am pretty sure that is a coding issue in the software and might just email Belltronics about that. Bottom line, the 335 is a fast/fun car. With PROcede it is even faster. It was not made to be a drag car, leave that to the Camaros. dolby

oh, i completely agree. sorry if my post came off in the wrong way.
i am in love with my 335+procede and think its a monster of a car. like u said though, its not a drag racer, but it does so many things fantastically well. i hope we do see consistent 1/4 times under 13.0 with procede and rft's, but the only ones im really seeing so far are with these accelerameters, and they are consistently .2-.3 more optimistic than what has happened on the track. but im with you, its fun to get these times, but it does nothing to add to the enjoyment of driving this torque monster around every day

0-100 in 12.88 not 0-110 in 12.88 Is that just a typo in the original post?? BTW, I don't put too much faith in accelerometers (except the GPS based ones are still pretty damn accurate, since that's what the car mags use). But I have got to say, your 1/4 mile times and traps are probably the most accurate of all the accelerometers I've seen. I can totally believe that a PROceded 335i with the v1.4 upgrade with a 6 speed manual with the CDV delete, running on 93 Octane in 45 degree air at near sea level could do a: 12.88 @ 109.1 I believe Charlotte, NC is pretty close to sea level too. The v1.4 is suppose to give a bit more torque and smooth out the dip in power around 5000 rpms. So that alone should account for a bit. I currently have the PROcede v1.2 in my car, but am getting the v1.4 uploaded on Wednesday. I'm doing a before and after dyno pull too, in order to see if the v1.4 actually did add any power. FYI, my car (sedan with auto) with just the PROcede v1.2 on 91 Octane ran a 13.0 @ 107.6 at 635 feet elevation. That's 12.95 @ 108.1 corrected for sea level. This was at an official drag strip. So as I said, I can believe your times as being accurate for what you have (v1.4, manual, CDV delete and 93 Octane, 45 degree weather, near sea level). Nice. I totally missed that I wrote 0-100 in 12.88. The FX-2 actually read 0-110 in 12.88 which confused me since the trap time was 12.88@109.1. There is no way the car made it another .9mph in less than a 1/100 sec. That is what I was talking about when I said it could be a software glitch.

I have this car for fun as well.
I just don't post unofficial times off a $99 device. As I've said in many other posts, where I have tested the GTech PRO and Bell/Escort units against a Vbox GPS unit.... 1/4 mile times/speeds are closer than 0-60. My post was just making the point that the lower/quicker times are LESS accurate, as there is a shorter duration, which makes for more discrepancy. I love my car and don't even have a PROcede..... I just want my LSD and Oil Cooler, so she can go beat up some Road Circuits, where the VBox is most useful..... Accurate Lap Times....... Enjoy |
