JB4 users interested in adding meth...
I currently have 135i with a JB4, DCI, and catless downpipes. I'm looking to add the meth X kit that works with the JB4 pretty well from what I understand.
Is it just as simple as installing the kit and switching to map 3? Or would map 7 be more appropriate? Also, I've seen many people say that running meth is safer than not running it because it lowers IAT, is that true? |

It's the same kit the only difference is where you put the tank. If you do the under the hood doesn't that negate the use of your windshield sprayers?
This is the kit I'm referring to http://www.n54tuning.com/index.php?_...d&productId=85 |

If you want to keep your windshield washers functional, that is a great choice. With regards to setting up meth, I know Terry created a pretty detailed thread on N54tech. Look at the stickies in the forced induction subforum. |

The two meth maps are map 3 and 6. Terry made it to set it and forget it but you can adjust parameters if you want but I wouldn't if you don't have experience. After you install it just do a few logs and send it to Terry and see what he says. Last edited by rmdvrs; 07-03-2011 at 04:49 AM.. |

I am running the FSB + Solenoid integrated JB4 meth kit and it is flawless. You can run Map 3 or Map 6. You can adjust meth additive for different boost targets.
My experience is that meth is delivered beautifully, far superior to the old flow sensor setup I had.

IMHO the WW kit wont be that bad if your using 50/50 meth/water. Just because it wont harm the paint. But if you go a lil bit higher then it might do some damage.
FWIW I tested the flammability of different mixtures from 90/10 to 50/50 and it would be highly flammable until i hit 50/50 then it would not ignite.

Like Mike and everyone else said, windshield washer fluid is actually about 40% meth so you will be fine. Now I have to ask you if your being serious? 100% meth, the most you will want to run is going to be around 70/30 depending on your mods. I would never run 100%, now that's dangerous.
