I'm going to be on business in Germany for 3 weeks and I've been hearing alot of people telling me to buy my e92 there and have them ship it over.
Apparently, it's a lot cheaper. Anyone have any experience when it comes to this? I probably won't do it but just curious how it actually works. |

You can go through Pentagon Car Sales. But I think you have to be here for more than 3 weeks. You also have to be affiliated with the military somehow (active duty, contractor, civil service, etc..) http://www.pentagoncarsales.com/bmw/...tions/faq.html
Otherwise there is the European Delivery from the states. |

You would have to buy a USA spec car through a dealer that sells them, as mentioned above

I'm not affiliated with the military whatsoever.
Looks like something like this would take some time. Especially, having to get a USA spec car. I doubt they would have that readily available to ship. Any idea how much the savings would be? Do I just walk into a BMW dealership, tell them I want to purchase a vehicle and have them deal with all the shipping? |

Stooken...
More info here: http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/europeandelivery/ In a nutshell, its just one of a few delivery options for your new BMW. In a nutshell, you spec/pay for your US spec car here, pick it up there, tool around europe a bit in your new car, drop it off at several convenient locations, they ship it back and you take delivery again here. Everything is included with cost savings to boot.

Looks like the savings is not that much. I guess it's for the thrill of being able to drive your new bimmer around Europe and then have it shipped over to the states. |

Well aside from the marginal savings on the price of the car, you'll save on car rental costs for the duration you plan to be in europe, something to consider. I'd look into it if you have ample time to set up Euro delivery, I'm not sure when your business trip is planned for.

I'm probably looking into a 328i because my friend works at BMW. What I meant before when saying "I don't save that much doing an ED" is that if I can get an awesome deal in the states then it can be pretty comparable to the ED price. That's because there is a lot room to negotiate on the 328i. I completely agree with the 335i though. Does the price include delivery of the car or is that paid separately? |
