Best NON RFT's

Hi Folks, I posted last week regarding loss of tire pressure in my RFT's.
I took it to the dealer and turned out there was a nail. They fixed it and
its been fine since then. This was the first time anything went wrong with my
RFT's and it made me realize that it can literally stuck your journey easily by
a day (Considering we first have to find a dealership and availability of tire
as the first dealership I called said they are out of OEN RFT's and wont be able to replace it under warranty if tire is unrepairable).
I have made up my mind to cancel my tire protection warranty and get NON RFT's instead with a spare in trunk. I have no knowledge of Tires. I would like to go with the best all season NON RFT's.
I just drive like a normal driver, no race tracks or anything.
I have a 335i with Sports Package if it helps.

Thanks in advance

Check out the Continental ExtremeContact DWS.

Instead of a spare you can probably get by with a flat repair kit that includes a can of sealant and a pump. Would save a lot of trunk space.

Those are pretty cheap too aren't they? If I remember, they are like $450 on www.tirerack.com

Prices vary depending on wheel size, but I think they're very reasonably priced regardless.

As for the tire repair kit, I don't recall a mileage spec. Honestly I bought with only the ability to fill the tire enough to get the car to a repair facility in mind. For typical punctures like screws, etc. it should work just fine.

Can't go wrong with Michelin pilot sport, Conti tires are loud.

Continental, (just like Michelin) makes a large variety of tires...some quiet, some not so quiet. The Conti DW is just as quiet as the Pilot Super Sport. The Super Sport does have better dry grip, cornering, and faster steering response than the Conti DW however.

I highly doubt conti dw extremes are only $450 but yes amazing tires. Quiet and awesome grip in dry and wet. Michelin PS2s are better and more more expensive.

how often does it snow where you are and how much snow? you might want to look into separate sets of summer and winter tires instead of all season.

Thanks for the suggestion Frank. I'l look into these.

@VTE, I live in Chicago.. tons of snow I dont think I have space to store a spare set of tires.. thats why I wanted a all season tire. I know all season tire can never match a winter tire's grip in snow.

since you said "all season", maybe Conti DWs are not what you'd want as they are "summer" tires.

That said, I love mine !!!!!

Quiet, good responsiveness, and you will lose 3-5 lbs per wheel of unsprung weight according to tire rack stats.

take the money you save from not buying runflats and spend it on a fun mod or upgrade

The Conti DWS are the best all-season tires around. Head and shoulders above the rest of the competition in snow, according to Tire Rack testing. I have them on my wife's M-B E350 4Matic Sport sedan and my son has them on his e90 M3 sedan on 220M 19-inch wheels.

Not as highly rated as real snows, but probably get you to where you want to go without having to invest in another set of wheels/snow tires.

Check out this link:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...jsp?type=UHPAS

My wife has 18's on her ride and the whole set (square setup) cost USD656 for 245/40/18 front and back.

Hi flip, Thanks for the comparison chart. Continental DWS beats all others in almost all domains.
