Problems Rubbing on KWv3

Okay, I am in a bind and would appreicate any help someone may be able to offer. I ordered a set of 20X10 BREYTON RACE GTP with an offset of 42mm. I'm running 285/25ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. I have KWv3s on there right now, which I belive to be adjusted to the maximum height in the rear (maximum threads showing), yet I am rubbing like crazy. I have had the fenders rolled and trimmed to try to make room (without pulling the fenders), but to no avial. My last hope is to put the stock suspension back in the rear to raise the car higher. I am open to any suggestions. Tires sit slightly inside (not quite flush) the rear fender. Thanks.

my $0.02...

That seems like an extremely wide tire, but give the offset it might be OK with some additional negative camber dialed into the rear. Otherwise you might want to step down to a 275 instead of the 285. Any pix available?

Will try to load some pics later on today or tomorrow. How bad will wear be on negative camber?

Wear won't be that bad if the toe is brought to spec.

damn! 20x10 on 285/25..
sick. do you think u'll have space on the inner strut if u shave
5mm off ur et42 make it et37.
10 is pretty aggressive on an e92 and 20 - gansta fitment.

the extra meaty tires may fit with 5mm off ur offset.
post up those picts side view, back view where the fender is.
i wanna see this fitment.

oh does it rub when ur in the car by urself or with
a loaded bimmer. rubb'n alot to the point where ur fenders
are heating up? if so that's not good.

Here are the pics

I would appreciate any advice you can give me on making these fit. I've included pics of the hack job they did on my fenders as well. I also provided pics of my coilovers which I believe are at maximum height. Thanks.

Last ones. Let me know if I need to post some at a different angle.

Top two are with the tires sitting on a brick to raise the wheel closer to the fender.

it seems like ur only option is to downsize ur tires to something like a 255 or 265

r u rubbing on the inside at all?

and remember the michelins r made wider than XYZ brand tires of the same size.

Ferg, looking at the pics, those wheels doesn't look like ET42, should be more tucked with ET42.

I've got 20x10 with 285/25/20, and I measured the offset to approx. ET38 on my e90, and that works fine with a slight roll.

I tried 10mm spacers making it ET28 and that on my car looks like it does on yours now.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=20x10+et28

I know mine's an e90, but the difference shouldn't be that big.

If you shave off the hub, the offset gets higher, not lower.

Did some searching, and found the German TUV approval for some 20" Breyton wheels, and the GTP are listed as 20x10 ET30 and 20x10 ET46.

And I bet yours are ET30.

I don't know why Tirerack list them as ET42.

Yeah, they realized their mistake, even thought it's still listed as that, when I called and started complaining. If you talk with a service rep, they will let you know it's a 30 offeset. They have a wonderful important note now that says "will require fender rolling/negative camber. Glad I could be the guinea pig....

If you ordered a +42 and got a +30 instead, I would think the vendor should take responsibility to rectify this. Saying "tough luck" is pretty weak.

Problem is that there isn't even a ET42 version, only ET30 and ET46.

This is a bad job by Tirerack.

I'm on a 10" +25 BUT with a 265. You are effectively 5mm closer to the hub but 10mm wider in tire. So effectively youre 5mm closer to the fender than i am. I had to roll the middle fender and cut the rear portion. Goodluck with your ordeal!
