Confused Navigation
Hey Everyone,
Something weird happened yesterday. I got into the car last night (330i), started to drive and the navigation did not find my correct position. It showed the map, and it showed me moving, but just sorta all over the place. I tried again later last night and it was still doing it. I tried ejecting and reinserting the DVD, and that seemed to make no difference. I also tried reseting it by pressing both eject button and the power knob. That caused the system to "restart" but still did not find me. I am in MA, and it has been raining badly all weekend... Could weather cause this?? Has anyone else had this problem? My dealer is an hour away, so I'd like to be able to fix this without having to go there! Thanks! |

I had this happen on Friday, it was raining like mad and I had just passed through a very long avenue of trees which must have cut off all access to the satellites. The SatNav went bonkers and told me I was about 70 miles from where I knew I was! After about 2 minutes it got a grip and reverted to where I was. Very off-putting!

yeah mine is still totally lost.
I noticed the altitude info isnt being displayed... so I assume it needs to be reset or recalibrated... I'm guessing I'm gonna have to go to the dealer. |

Hi,
how long did you have the car "on"? I think I remember something like let the navi have at least 10 Minutes to recalibrate in case of failure... A full reset would be done by disconnecting the battery But be aware - you have to go to the dealer then!!! Because a whole lot of things need to be reprogrammed mwie |

thanks for the idea.
Ive driven to work and back 3 times now, so its been on longer than 10 mins... I'll probably call the dealer to schedule an appointment... I have a rattle or two and noisy wipers that need dealing with anyway... If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. |
