335xi vs SRT8 Jeep

I raced a friend with a srt8 jeep at a set of lights at the track, and god dam those things are fast.....it was only like a 20 feet race, but i cant lie he took me on that one. I feel like I could take him down on a 1/4 mile, its just that the 335's have such a short first gear that its hard to get a good launch. From a roll i took him down and it was pretty sad for him I got 8 cars lenghts on him

Not sure if this forum supports street racing, but down the 1/4 he'll still get you if you're stock... SRT-8 Jeeps do like 13 flats down the 1/4 stock?

Yes thats what i meant, the srt8 has a cold air intake, its straight piped, and its chipped...he is thinking of supercharging it, that thing would be unstopable in a straight line if he did

TBSS and SRT-8 with full bolt ons would be a tough race if they can get traction.

A cam, tune, intake and LT headers will equal about 100rwhp/rwtq.

It would be pretty damn fast, but unstopable? Maybe, that is until a turbo T/A shows up

Hell, i think those numbers are kinda conservative considering a cam can net 60+whp even for a pretty small one. I'd think 120+whp would be pretty easy. A high stall makes those cars deadly. Put a 3600 yank TC in there and those things rip out the hole

Meh, not worried about it. I doubt I'll run into the worlds fastest jeep. Lol. That is one fast ass jeep though. Spraying and turbo in something that can haul the kids around and get the groceries. I'd sport it.

Nothing wrong with loosing a race...just makes you come to this section of the forums quicker to see how you can gain more hp/torque for the next time!

Eh.. maybe, I was just making a generalized statement. For those kind of numbers with just the listed mods, you would need a very aggressive cam with a large overlap that moved power up top. In order to run a cam like that you would definitely need new rods, rockers and springs to make it safe. Possibly even lifters and FAST intake manifold coupled with a 90/102mm TB.

But, there is an element of truth in your comment.

I've actually seen a Jeep SRT8 place in the top 5 at an autocross of all things... they are extremely quick vehicles and the chassis is better than you would think.

I had one with a 150 shot of nitrous. Ran a 11.7 1/4 mile at 115mph. Needless to say it got out of the hole pretty well.
