PROcede. Petal to the metal?

OK. I have had my PROcede for a couple of weeks. It seems during 20mph and up, if I floor it (step trans) it gasps for just a weeeee bit then gets it's breath. If I give pressure to the kick button, the torque seems much higher. I have been trying to figure each aspect of acceleration scenarios. If I feel the need to blast off my gut reaction is to nail it. Is patience to the floor the best end result for power. Any similar seat feelings out there? I wish I had access to equipment that would settle my nerves on this, but I don't. Just trying to extract the most juice.

.... you do have access to equipment to answer your question fully, you have a proceed.. which data logs, a fith grader who can add multiply and divide would probably be able to figure it out...

It's called Turbo Lag. My Previous car was an E46 M3 where the throttle response was instant so this car took some getting used to. Plus you have an Auto so the torque converter takes some time to kick in the right gear. Should be a bit better with a manual. Go drive an STI or EVO and you won't complain at all about the lag...

I don't need one of those . I am usually a standard trans person with my sports cars. I think it will just take more time to program my foot. First turbo(s) motor also. I am not complaining, love everything about it. More seat time.

+1 I get it in my 6mt. Its just turbo lag.

I even get it going 60 mph and down shifting into 3rd @ 4k rpms or so then giving it all the gas. It takes about a spilt sec for the turbos to spool then youll feel the torque kick you back in your seat.

You can try brake boosting but im not sure if it will work too well on our cars. Ive tried it a few times. Im not an expert but I didnt really feel a difference.

Let the turbos catch up, then nail it? This is all subjective, but I know what feels right. I am trying to find the foot to motor equation. Sometimes I miss a manual.

This is slightly OT but still PROcede related...

Since the PROcede, when I slowly roll on the throttle and the boost comes on, I sometimes get and a rough, abrasive sound from the engine compartment. I can feel it in the steering wheel. It's only for that split second between no boost and full boost. I'm thinking it's the turbos, but never had the sound previous to he install.

Also, yesterday something very strange occurred. I'm in 6th gear (MT) at 60 and ease into the throttle for a quick pass. As the swell of boost comes on I get an abrupt stutter for about a full second. Kinda like the fuel was cut, very distinct and pretty loud. I immediately backed off the gas and kept driving. The rest of my 60 mile trip was uneventful and the car ran flawlessly. Really freaked me out and I'm thinking "WTF, add me to the list of dead FP's".

I doubt its your fuel pump if it only happened once. Have you updated to the v1.4 map. The first map that we released had a little boost oscillation around 4000rpm under certain conditions. The update fixed that as well as added a bit more torque at 3000rpm. As for the sound you are hearing, it's probably the turbos. Although I've never heard them being described as "rough or abrasive". All you should really hear with the PROcede is a bit more 'whoosh' and 'phhhfft' (when you lift off the throttle).

Hey Shiv, thanks for the response. No, I haven't updated my map. I'll get on that. I was part of the DC dyno day install. What map would I have?

If you were part of any of the day days, you have v1.2 which was the first "official" map release. Then we developed v1.3 which was never released (just internally and to a few local testers). v1.4 was the map version that I (and everyone else, it seems) am the most happy with.
