Blow off valve

Is any of this true?

Blow Off Valve for the E92 335i Twin Turbo

By installing a larger Blow Off Valve with a larger venturi, these components will help correct any excess pressure being built against the turbo impeller blades that can eventually stop the turbo from spinning. This is called Compressor Surge and when eliminated, the turbo will spool faster, be more efficient and durable over time.

All the hardware and fittings are designed to fit and function flawlessly even under high boost conditions. It has been tested and proven not to stall under any conditions. The only giveaway is that robust sound of the BOV when it vents to the outside atmosphere.

This blow off valve features:
Larger openings to handle MORE boost
Larger all aluminum venturi design with factory style throttle clamp
A larger, single displacement Blow Off Valve that replaces the two smaller plastic valves

I thought i heard someone say BOV's do nothing for performance

That quote is somewhat correct, but for the wrong reasons. When talking about the 335i, the stock diverter valves have no problem taking care of boost where there is NO compressor surge when running stock or even slightly higher then stock levels (ie. Procede, turbotuner, etc). At the same time a VTA BOV will not harm anything either, it will not induce compressor surge (some have posted this on the forum and it drives me crazy), its basically doing the same job as stock but instead of routing that compressed air back into the intake track it vents it to the atmosphere, all while making the infamous WWWWWOOOOOOOSSSSSHHHHHH. Long story short, if you enjoy the sound then go for it, if not then no harm no foul because your stock diverter valves work just fine.

That statement would be true if you are running insane amount of boost...and it seems like it's a good way (although slightly exaggerated) to sell their BOVs...

adding a BOV to a 335i does nothing for it, but makes a cool sound...i got one, it doesn't make the car any faster or slower, it just makes a noise when i let off the throttle...
