Underseat woofer wiring help

I just bought a set of Morel 8s from another user on here. I just have a few questions about installing them I'm not sure about.

In DIYs I have seen I saw people put some type of jumper system on a connector that allows the current to pass to the front speakers. Can anyone clarify on this or post a picture labeled with how this should be setup?

Also, I am a little confused on the ohm setup. The Morels are 4 ohm SVC (I believe) and the amp I am using is a Kicker ZX350.4:
60 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (90 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
175 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

The first 2 channels are going to be used to power the front speakers (4 ohm load each channel). I was wondering what the best way to wire this would be. I was wondering if running these woofers together on remaining channels bridged if it would help sound quality/volume at all.

Any opinions are very welcome. Thanks!

Subscribing. I am about to install my system and could use the same clarification.

There's a picture of the jumpers fitted to the connectors in my install guide, follow the link in my signature and scroll down to where I fit the SWS8's

I think with the way I'm wiring it I shouldn't even need to mess with that jumper. I'll just use the stock wires going to the woofer.

Only other question I have is:
Does anyone use sound deadening material (raamat, dynamat, fatmat, etc.) on the inside and/or outside of the plastic woofer housing? Does anyone think it will make a difference at all?

Thats fine, are you going to use the underseat wiring for doors AND woofers? Thats the only situatiob in which you wouldnt have to at least slightly mod the wiring.

I'm kind of confused of how this setup works. In the trunk I have technics harness that has wires for the underseat woofers as well as the front door speakers. It is the HiFi system if that makes any difference. I don't see how this jumper does anything if the harness has different wires for the underseats and doors.

Could be that i actually am mistaken since i have the base system (wiring goes from HU TO woofer, through some kind of cap, then onto the doors). Ill let someone smarter take over

Thanks for the help though. It seems like BMW hired 3 different teams to design the different sound systems.

The woofer jumpers are used only with the Stereo (6-speaker, no OEM amp system) as the front and underseat woofers are connected in parallel from factory. The jumpers simply separates the front from the underseat speakers wiring and re-establishes the connection from the OEM HU to the front speakers only.

The woofers then require separate new wiring and amplification.

Your system is HiFi (10- or 8-speakers, OEM amp in the trunk), thus all the speaker wires (6-channels) are individually laid out in the trunk audio OEM harness connected to the OEM amp.

My harness is used to unplug the OEM amp and then plug an aftermarket 5- or 6-channel amp (balanced input) to the OEM audio connector so no OEM wires are cut, spliced or tapped.

Perfect. That's what I needed to know. It seems like nothing I have read says that very clearly.

The HiFi harness wires are labeled by speaker type and location...

I know! I remember doing the extensions and labeling them! I just keep seeing DIYs for underseat woofers and it seems like all of them mention the jumper wiring thing. It was confusing me.

So if I have a Logic 7 driving new 8in subs under the seats with an external amp I do not need the jumper correct? And I used same color wires from the harness at the speaker to do my connections?

SUB LEFT
Red/White + pin 8
Brown/Yellow - pin 18

SUB RIGHT
Red/Blue + pin 6
Brown/White- pin 16

The way it works is:

- pre 03/09 production = 2-wires
- post 03/09 production = 4-wires
