Throttle lag

There's turbo lag and then there's throttle lag. Finally there's throttle response. Here's my definition:

Throttle response - how much the throttle actually opens for a given pedal position. This can be changed by tuning solutions or gizmos that boost the signal from the throttle pedal sensor.

Turbo lag - torque gain after opening throttle due to time taken to build boost pressure. It feels like it can take up to a second after adding throttle for full boost to build and max torque.

Throttle lag - how long it takes after adding throttle for the engine to respond. Subtly different to turbo lag since there is a moment where the engine appears not to respond at all, before torque starts to build due to increasing boost pressure.

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the throttle lag? For me, this is particularly evident when adding a light throttle, such as you might apply to help balance the car around a corner. i.e. come off the brakes and add just enough throttle to maintain speed. Typically it takes a moment for the car to respond at all.

Those who have noticed this, do any of the tuning solutions help? I would really love to eliminate this trait. It makes the car feel less controllable and slower than it really is.

Thanks

Its a drive-by-wire system. What do you expect? ...the instant response of the trusty mechanical throttle cable?...

Most tuning solutions offer improvement in throttle lag however there still is no replacement for a drive by cable.

Well considering it won engine of the year for 2 years in a row I'm surprised it is so noticeable... I'm also disappointed in the 1s turbo lag given all the rave reviews but I can learn to live with, and even enjoy, that if I get NA performance immediately.

I also have a Civic Si with DBW, and that started out with noticeable lift off (rather than power on) lag. After a good full tune (changing the ecu logic and custom tuning to the car) all lag appears to have been eliminated, so it is possible. Actually I think that engine now has the best response of any car I've ever driven. I don't notice any lift-off lag in the 335, just power on lag.

I do remember the switch from my first cable throttle to dbw, but I quickly got used to it. That's just not happening with this car.
