H8 bulb won't rotate: what am I doing wrong?
So my OEM angel eye H8 bulb died and I tried to replace it. I had no trouble rotating the socket counter-clockwise and removing it. However, when putting it back, I am having trouble rotating the socket clockwise into the original position. I read every DIY and it seems that this step should be intuitive.
I used as much force as I could to rotate it, and even wore a latex glove to minimize injury and give better grip. But as you can see, I still shaved some skin from my index finger only to rotate about 10º. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? I can't resume trying until my finger fully recovers. Please advise. |

I'm doing the angel eye of the passenger side. I didn't realize about the aligning part (I thought that was only applicable for aftermarket LEDs).. I think you're right I will take a look at it again.

it takes some patience and some alignment to get it right. You don't need to turn the bulb that much to stick it in there. Just have some patience and you should be done in no time. good luck

Nice.... I did mine last night, couple of scratches not easy. The rubber collars make it tighter of course so as you turn (toward the grills) slighty push toward you, in its 'unlocked' position the bulb socket is up right, 'locked' at say 30 degrees off

I had a couple experiences where the replacement bulb carrier was defective and would not turn or lock in place. I could put the original bulb back in with no problem, and determined that there was some sort of clearance issue with the replacement. I returned the replacement bulbs for a new set and they worked fine. I currently have LUX V3s which took a bit of effort to turn because they have a straight (as opposed to 90-degree) connector on the rear, but they locked in place and have been trouble-free.

Your hands are too big...It's not your fault at all. Try to find someone with small hands
