![]() Hi guys, I got a stereo (Non-US) head unit which is 4 x 15 in 4 ohm. I interested to get the Infinity Kappa 42.7I. The speakers are 2 ohm. So do you think is there any problem ? wot problem ? http://infinitysystems.com/car/produ...&Region=EUROPE Thanks alot guys ! |

you will short the head unit, and blow the fuse, or just plain blow it up.
Can't do that. If you lower the ohm rating, you increase the amperage flowing through the circuit. If you raise the ohm rating, your speakers will be too quiet, and probably have bad sound because they won't get enough excursion. |

There are so many decent 4ohm speakers out there.
The Diamond M6's fit in the stock locations reeally well, I just filed out notches in the outer ring where the stock bolts were and used those blots to keep them in place, so no making fixing adapters. But you need to upgrade the amps before doing anything. I cheapish 4 channel amp will bring you far more than swapping speakers will. Run the font channels to the amp and go in hi-level, the run two channels to the front speakers and the other two channels to the subs under the seat. Leave the rea speakers running of the head unit for fill. As you have the standard system this is really quite simple, coming off the head unit you have one cable running to under the door sills, this then splits and goes for front speakers and subs from there, so you only need to run cables to this point. |
