Torx-20 screws?

I've misplaced one of the t-20 screws that holds the covering cap on the xenon headlight. Pictured as #6 here - http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E9...ght_xenon_alc/

I went to two different dealerships where one told me to order a new cap that might come with the screws. The other offered to sell me a whole new headlight in order to obtain the screws. There doesn't seem to be a part number, or at least I can't seem to find it. I've googled relentlessly to no avail. It appears that this has to be a standard t-20 screw BMW uses. Also, no hardware stores I went to carries them. The closest they could get was by offering me machine screws, but this screw is very light. I suspect it's aluminum, but I'm not sure. I came across two websites that sell torx screws, but it wants exact dimensions, and I do not even know half of them.

Any advice will be appreciated.

No, those are used to screw them onto the car.

If you're describing it correctly, I don't think those are Torx-20 screws that you've misplaced.

Maybe a picture would help. From the diagram, I think those were used for the Angel Eye's bulb housing. PM me with a picture

If you're talking about about the screws holding the plastic cap of the back of the headlight (part #6 in the diagram posted), those are 5 T20 (torx) screws holding it into place. 100% sure as i've done the install many times.

It's the long and slender screws, correct? If so, I think I may have a couple laying around.

Bump.

I ordered a bunch of #10 (in the diagram) from tischer only to find they are the big screws used to fix the headlight to the car.

Now I need to find the little ones as well. Need 13 to be safe, possibly less. Was planning on bringing one to BMW dealer and see what they say, but looks like it's been done with no success. Damn

Yeah, if BMW had a part # for these, it would certainly make our lives easier. These screws exhibit no luster. The only reason they appear more shiny than they are is due to the camera flash. I'm not questioning whether they're T-20, I know they are. If you have some laying around, I'd be willing to pay you.

The screws showed above are the correct ones.

I need the smaller ones which attach the modules to the headlight, the ones above are for the rear cover. Essentially the same screw, just the head is flat and not cylindrical. Also need a gasket from the circular cover.

Hopefully luis can save me! If not, I think I've got another source.

Bump; really really need these screws!

If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

They are metric, so hardware suppliers in NA can't help. BMW can't help, as far as I know they don't have a part no. for them.

Just wrote a shot-in-the-dark letter to ZKW in austria; maybe they'll respond...beginning to lose hope, looks like I might have to use a screw w/ imperial measure and force it into the holes, but I really really want to avoid this!

Just got this issue sorted.

The screws which hold the modules, ballasts, and LED modules to the housing are part no. 63122754796. 4 screws per part no. It's only listed as used on Minis and E83s and E63s but the exact same screws as E90 LCI.

The screws in post 8 (which hold the large rear cover to the housing) are probably included if you purchase the rear cover, but I was just shipped about 15 from a parts place so if anyone needs them, feel free to PM.

I knew there had to be a part no. for these! Luckily this thread will avoid future individuals from having to look all over town. Congrats on finding the part no. Just out of curiosity, how did you find out what it was?
