No.. my 325 has a 3L motor...

How many 325 owners have had to deal with people telling them their car is a 2.5L when in actuality its the same 3L engine found in the 330...

In my experience people tend to think that they know more about my car than I do and think I'm a retard when I tell them that I have a 3L engine in my car.

Anyone else?

I think the US is the only country to have a 3.0L 325.....everywhere else it's 2.5L.

EDIT: Ok so I was wrong. The first production E90 325i models in Europe were 2.5L engines ('05-'06). From '07 on, they're all 3.0L engines....Euro and US spec. Though both displacements make the same power.

When my wife's cousin picked us up from Pearson Airport in his 323i (E90) last summer, I was like you have got to be kidding me, a 2.3L is this some kind of joke? In the states, the smallest motor we ever had was the 2.5L in 2006, and it got bumped up to 2.8 in 2007.

Well what confuses me is that the 325 has a N52B25. My 330 has a N52B30...You would think the 25 means 2.5L and the 30 means 3.0L.

Although my '99 328i - a first year E46 - displaced 2.8 liters, as did my '97 Z3 2.8. Ah for the days when a number meant something.

thats not true, i had an 06 e90 325 here in the states and it was a 3l, the e46 325ci may have been 2.5 but not sure if that car even exists, all 328's in the states are 3.0l engines

Correct.

The Canadian-spec 323i E90 is a 2.5L.

The same number that think the 335 is a 3.5L?

The same number that think the M3 is powered by the letter M?

The same.. ahh, you get the point.

Yes the 325 is a 3 liter, but that means that my 330 is a 5-series.

I don't really understand why this is a big deal at all. But I'm glad my 325 is 2.5, saves me when it comes to pay the tax man!

And yes, there are 320i, 320d, 323, 325, 330, 335, and M versions of a 3 series in Taiwan. The price range from the 320i to the M3 is an incredible $90 000USD...so if you are looking for easy status/bragging rights...a 3 series is not the car to get given that most people probably can't tell the difference between a 320i and an M3.

Australian market has the 2.5L for E90/2 323/325. But the 125i gets the 3.0L
