NOT using locking alloy wheel bolts?

Just wondering...

When I fit spacers, I'll have to buy longer bolts, which is no big deal. Longer locking bolts though are expensive considering I only need 2 out of the set of 4, and that will then leave me with another wheel bolt key to keep safe - are they a requirement for, say, insurance?

The wheels are standard, and given the propensity for locking bolts to strip or sieze, I'm wondering if it might just be easier to fit 5 ordinary bolts?

Anyone else considered or done this?

Never seen an insurance doc that specifies them.
I don't bother with locking nuts anymore. After I lost the keys to a few sets and have seen several times how easy they are to get off with the right tool, they seem like a waste of time to me.
If someone really wants to nick your wheels, they are going to have them away, lockers or not.
Depends where you live as well I guess, if I lived in a city, I'd probably have 5 lockers on each wheel to deter the "casual" thief.

Haven't used any in a few years, at first I was worried, until I read this post I forgot I didn't have them on the wifes car. My cars are parked in a garage overnight though.....

Even with the BMW lockers the wheels are easy enough to steal, why would you make life any easier for scumbags like the ones on this post:

I have two locking wheel nuts on each wheel, I figure there are lots of beemers about, if I make mine harder to steel they will move on. Wheel nuts are easy to get off with the right tool but importantly I think you need to usually hammer on the tool which makes noise. Why make life easy.
