2008 MY Allocations

Hello everyone, first let me thank all of you on this forum for providing such great information. I think I spend an hour a day reading threads on this forum. Now I have a question, I'd like to be one of the first in line to get a 2008 model year allocation. When do the dealerships get the 2008 MY allocations? June, July, or August? And do you get the production # when they get their allocations or is it after BMW has accepted the order, or is it when they start their 2008 production? Thanks for all your help.

I'm thinking the first '08's would be delivered in Sept. like the '07's. If you figure a 2 mo. wait for a coupe, then July would be the time to strike. I'd think it'd be pretty easy to be the first on the block with an '08 as it's only April. Who'd wait 5 mos. for a 3 Series? 2 mos. is already hard enough!

would they still give you good discounts on the 08 or would it be easier to get bigger discounts on an 07 this summer?

If you want an 08, give your dealer a deposit and agree to a price at X dollars above invoice. It will put you at the top of the list whenever the allocations are given. Production numbers usually are assigned the month before the vehicle is scheduled for production, so you should receive that before the end of the summer.

I'm sure others have put in their deposits, so if you want to be one of the firsts, do it now.
