exhaust muffler

i was thinking about getting a exhaust for my car but there just to much money right now so i was thinking the next best thing i could do would either be get a muffler delete or get a resinator delete idk which one or what is better and cheaper or what the huge difference is really or i could get some nice muffler tips also if that changes anything like sound.
does anybody have any insight and advice on what i should do i want that nice sporty sound almost a like a g35 but dont wanna spend a grip of money either please any help would be greatly appreciated

There's a lot of threads about muffler & resonator deletes.. please try searching before you start a thread!

Now to answer your question, If you want a cheap option for your exhaust to be louder, a muffler delete is the way to go, however it's very risky imo because a lot of people either love it or hate it. The best thing for you to do, is post in your local forum to see if anyone is willing to meetup so you can have a feel for the different options for exhausts to see first hand what you really want.

I would NOT get both a muffler & resonator delete. All you're going to get with that setup is a lot of volume, but the quality of the sound is not going to be very pleasant, especially to those in your community. I've actually run a muffler delete before, it was fun for a few days, but it got old because the exhaust note always made it sound like I was "trying to hard" even under normal driving.. if that makes any sense .

I ended up getting rid of the muffler delete and picking up the BMW performance exhaust, I've loved it since I put it on last summer .

*EDIT* Also, if you do meetup with others.. don't just listen from the rear of the car, IF the person will let you sit in the car as a passenger, and drive you around for a few blocks that would be nice, because a muffler delete sounds okay from the outside, but there is drone from inside the cabin.

*EDIT2* I'm not very sure if there is an exhaust option for our cars to make it sound like a G35/G37.. personally I love the sound of those exhausts but, I can say with 100% assurance that a muffler delete DOES NOT make the car sound anything close to a G35/G37.

I went with the muffler delete, and I like the sound. I even turn the music down from time to time and listen to the drone.

I'm not too aware of muffler & resonator deletes, but which is easier to do and what made you go with the muffler delete instead of resonator?

I'm not sure which is easier, but I went with muffler b/c it seemed like that would be louder. I'm thinking of doing just the resonator on my GTI.

Go for the resonator + second cat delete. And when you got the money, slam an exhaust like MMW or PE on that and you're good to go!

If you go muffler delete, its all gonna have to go if you ever decide to go with an aftermarket exhaust setup; so its lost money. The res.+cat delete; on the opposite, will benefit ALL kinds of setups.

+1 I got this done for under $300. Sounds aggressive, but doesn't drone.

thanks for all the help it sounds like the resinator cat delete is the best way to go and most affordable im down with the magnaflow muffler to but then again i dont know a whole lot about these things so don't no whats good and good setup but i want good quality still also with price,so i think my best option with lack of knowledge would be stay with the res cat delete till later when i can get a good muffler setup thanks
