BMW WON'T REPLACE TURBOS, need help!!
I have a serious amount of wastegate rattle on my car, especially on decel (sounds like the exhaust is goin to fall off). Its a 2007 335i with a cpo. My SA told me the noise level is acceptable, that it has to get to a certain decible to require replacement. I guess the turbos were already replaced by a previoius owner at 30k (car has 58k now). How do you guys get the dealership to take care of this?

Take the car to a not so remote area and leave the keys in it!
More serious note... They can be a real pita, but maybe try another dealership.

If the HPFP recall hasn't been done on the car, you might not have the latest software. Ask them to check if your car has it. If not, have them reprogram your car. The newest software shuts down the wastegates upon deceleration.

Maybe try another dealership if possible or call BMWNA directly and complain.

If they are saying it requires a certain decibel level, ask them what that level is and what they measured your car at. Certainly they took a measurement before they fed you that BS.

When I had it there for that concern, they replaced the fuel pump and performed the software update (my car feels slower too??). Wastegates were still rattling away.

my '07 started having the same WG issues around 45K, and I had to take it in twice because they kept claiming to fix it... Just tell them you know that it is NOT normal, it wasn't like that when you bought it, you want to talk to the manager and that you bought the car with a CPO to address & fix issues like this. Sometimes you have to get nasty especially with the subjective "it sounds too loud" claim. Don't let them feed you any BS

Some of the comments are so goofy. Do you really think the dealership doesn't want to do the work? Don't you think they get paid on warranty work? Basically the way it works with bmw is that before bmw fixes anything they submit the claim to bmw. If it gets denied it's because of bmwna not the dealership.
