UMMMMMM.... i think i bought a car with a tune...

ok, so this conversation is kind of a continuation from this thread:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=562194

basically, got it dyno'd and i thought it was kind of low (263.2 dyno dynamics) so i posted and people noticed i peaked at 13psi.. which is above stock and also a different problem from what i originally thought i had (low numbers). anyway, someone suggested i check to see if i have a tune or something and shit, turns out i think i do. checked ECU compartment and i have a silver box with a VGA-like connector (computer monitor?) and also a separate black box with a unused blue wire clean cut at the end but not wrapped with tape (exposed).

so now i have more questions than when i started and i need to know: what the hell is it and how do i use it?

Looks like your car is equipped with a Procede. The black box and cut wire (antenna) is for the old map switching remote.

The other component is to connect a serial to usb cable and connect to a laptop. This is how you make adjustments to the procede using the Procede user software.

lol.. you have a Procede Congrats. Now get it out of valet mode and have fun. To play it safe, you should also update to the most current maps/fw.

Could've been on a valet map, plus Dyno Dynamics read low.

connect the serial to usb and route it to inside the car's glove box. Then leave it there to connect whenever you need it. Search on here, there are a few ways to do it.

Procede only works on Windows.

Consider this a blessing. A lot of people have a hard time pulling the trigger on getting a tune, but in almost every case, once they do they wished they had done it earlier.
