Change exhaust on 2011 328i?
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to change the standard 328i exhaust to the 335i style? I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff.
I'm not trying to be a poser and debadge the car or anything, I bought the 328i over the 335i because I simply didn't need that much horsepower, I just prefer the look of the 335i exhaust. Is it possible to put a non working exhaust just for looks? (like the tip)? I'm not really looking to re-do the whole exhaust system, just looking for the part that shows. About how much will all this cost? As you can see, I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff, so any help would be great! ![]() |

I'm aware I have to have an exhaust, what I meant was could I add an exhaust tip on the left side and eliminate one of the dual exhaust tips that are currently on the right side?

Yes, I think theres like a Magnaflow conversion you could do. From my understanding, the main exhaust or muffler is still on left, but a pipe will run to the right and appear to be on the right as well.

That (fake exhaust), my friend, is a horrible idea, even if it's doable. Of course it's a matter of taste, but that will be a very ghetto thing to do on a very classy car. Why don't you look into performance exhaust that will still be on one side but change the volume level considerably? Sounding sweet is at least as good as looking sweet in my book.

It won't be cheap, and BMW will find anyway to void the applicable parts of your maintenance and warranty that are even remotely affected by converting into a dual exhaust system.

This is the thread regarding that actual video.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=371289 I think he states the part # too. Looks fairly simple. First buy the 335 rear bumper, buy the exhaust, have muffler shop fashion a pipe to the other side, drive away. Are you e90 or e92? |

Next time you're ripping down route 7 and some weekender is doing 37 mph, and u wanna pass, you're going to say "huh, guess I DO need more power!"
You are surrounded by amazing curvy roads. Plenty of places to use all the power you can get, ESP low end torque. In sheffield talk, "Putting a dual exhaust set up on a 328 is like putting 35s on a chevy Colorado.". ![]() |

i would have gotten a 335i... for 5 grand more i think? plus way more options for aftermarket stuff. just get the BMW Performance Exhaust for your 328i it sounds deeper than a stock 335i.
