Another Homelink DIY

Once you pull up the center console you will see that the middle tray pulls out after pulling back on tabs in the front and 2 sides.

Buy a $4 switch from Home Depot. Make sure to use one that says for door buzzers as it only switches on while held down.

Solder the wire to the 2 sides of the connector that the button use to hit. I am a terrible solderer. I had to dremel through the middle of the remote to prevent the connections from connecting by way of solder.

Drilled a hole in the middle tray and stuck the switch through it and screwed the nut onto fasten it in place. I polished the nut to make it look chrome.

Ran the wire up below the armrest so that I can easily change the battery when I want to. I may decide to move it underneath later but am fine with it there.

Total cost $5 and it took less than an hour.

*Sigh* I wish BMW kept the AC vents in the center console...such a drag they got rid of them.
