Both Stock Angel Eyes Went at the same time?

Yesterday I got the light out warning light, I went to check it out and BOTH passenger side angel eyes were out. Is that common, like what are the odds they both fail at the exact same time?

If there ever was a time to upgrade to something better now is the time (I am leaning towards LUX 5.1's) but I am worried there might be something else wrong with my system.

Easy, remove both H8 bulbs and see if they are actually burned. The glass should have a black/dark tint if burnt.

You have a pre-lci E90; H8 are for LCI's and E92.

Its just your Angel Eyes bulb that went out. There is a single bulb for both rings; so its absolutely normal that both went out at the same time.

Time to upgrade! I know you lean towards Lux, but I got a spare set of Weisslicht in 6000k if interested (for cheap). They match the headlights perfectly and they were only used for 4k.

Either way, there's nothing wrong with your car; procede with your upgrade.

sorry, I have no idea what bulbs the pre-LCI e90 use. The e92 uses H8, but the concept is same, if they are burnt you can visually see it.

By the way I misread your post,, I thought you meant the driver side and the passenger side burnt out at the same time. The two halos on each side share a single bulb.

On the right: Weisslicht LED version.

Ahh same bulb for both... makes sense! Thanks!
I have heard to many mixed reviews on the weisslicht kit so I want to stick with the Lux. Thanks though!

Both rings on the same side are lit up by the same light bulb. The inner ring is lit up by the bulb directly, while the outer ring is actually a "light pipe" that feeds off the same bulb. I.e. there are really no "odds" here. Both rings on the same side always go out simultaneously.

This diagram shows how it works (the driver's side light is pictured)

Was this directed at me?

The weisslicht units are generic 6W led units. The pictures you posted have the LCI adapter plate. Take that off and it will fit a pre-lci.

I've had weisslicht. I still do actually but my passenger side is burnt out. That's why I'm making my own custom angel eyes.

I'm aiming to get them done before bimmerfest next weekend...so I can show them off

There are about 150 SMD LEDs on those rings.

Yes, props to Marc (his idea). Yea I hope the small amount of glue holds up. They don't wiggle which is good. Some did because I used too little so I just reglued.

Still waiting for the logic board....still in the freaking mail

Will begin soldering this weekend.

OP, sorry for thread jack.
