Almost got a speeding ticket on I-280
Today I was driving north on 280, a few miles before highway 92 junction. I was going faster than other cars around me, maybe 85-90 mph. Then all off a sudden my V1 laser went off right after a right curve. I slowed down, and took the Vista Point exit. There were no cops following me, but when I got to the vista point I was able to see him on top of the hill, waiting. I waited for a couple minutes and decided to leave. Right when I started driving he got on his car and started driving, too. Good thing he went to catch someone else.
I'm thinking maybe he didn't get a good read of my speed somehow, or my V1 went off because of a reflection from another car he was pointing the laser at. But anyway, I decided to look for a laser jammer. Does anybody know how many seconds on average he has to point the laser to get a speed reading? |

lolz, everyone goes 80-90 at half moon bay. I go 100+ sometimes even...just for the hell of it.
But yeah, that's generally where the cops are always at...so just watch out. Once you past Milbrae , your free!

CHP frequently post around the 280/92 interchange. Northbound around Vista Point, and Southbound right behind the 92 tunnel (pretty sneaky if you ask me).
Fortunatly, you did not get tagged. |

85mph and 90mph to cut off a car too big for me to see the road ahead. So radar and laser detectors work? I can't go lesser than 85 unless traffic doesn't allow me but when the road is open, I gotta get to my destination.

Yeah, what's up with all the cops around the bay area? We noticed it at the end of last month, but it's carried over still.
They've been pacing 280, and have been camped out along the sides of 101, esp along SFO-Burlingame all week.

Watch out around Redwood City, the freeway is really broad there so everyone speeds up. I saw tons of cops at vista points, sometimes even on sides of freeway offramps.

Radar & Laser Jammers
Under California law, the use of radar and laser jammers is illegal. It is also a felony under federal law to jam or attempt to jam police radar signals. Many states criminalize the mere possession of a radar jammer, so it is best to avoid such products altogether. (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov) |

Now, if you're still up for it:
http://www.radarbusters.com/products...er/default.asp I know a place that will install it for you down in Los Altos, about $500 |

Or, you can go with this:
Stealth coating for the headlamps; http://www.radarbusters.com/products/coatings/veil.asp and a deflector for the front license plate, Lider’s #1 target http://www.radarbusters.com/products...ser-shield.asp this coupled with a good laser detector may buy you the few seconds you need to slow down before he gets a lock on you. |
