After driving now for a few days with v25 installed, I can say that the engine and transmission performance are greatly improved. Keep in mind, though, I had never had a software update - so I'm catching up on 7 or 8 versions worth in one leap.

Gone ... rough idle at cold start
Gone ... strong idle that moves car forward from a stop
Gone ... hestiation when putting the throttle down
Gone ... last moment surge while braking to a stop

Much improved ... shift points in both D and DS are much more logical, sensible, timely, and practical. This is by far the biggest difference I've noticed so far. The engine and transmission now act like they know each other - and it's a beautiful relationship.

Much improved ... engine responsiveness. My 550i feels like a different car now ... it's finally performing the way it should. There is no hesitiation when you ask for more power, and the transmission does a much better job of being in the right gear at the right time. This is fantastic.

iDrive. Looks better. Has better menu structure. I'm not sure it boots faster, but it does seem more responsive to inputs than before. One nice new feature is that the system 'remembers' when you had the steering wheel heater and seat heater on when you return to the car after a short stop. Before it would only recall the sea heater.

Here's some screen shots:

Main Menu colors look nice

Map colors are improved

I never had RDS before

Both surround sound choices remain (I had read elsewhere that only Concert remained)

My oil reading finally is correct - it had always shown too much oil!

Bluetooth was easier to pair

CD tracks has a new view

I too like the look of the new version. Now if they could only get the voice recognition fixed for the sedan.

Same for the coupes, too. I have 25.03 and my voice recognition doesn't work. Hopefully 25.04 will fix it

Have the VR issues been addressed? I thought coupes were immune but it sounds like they have problems as well???

Nope, I have v25.00.04 and it isn't fixed with that version. They need to input some codes which apparently only BMW can do. They are wanting to ship the CCC to BMW to repair and enable VR again.

Good to know. No wonder why my CA doesn't call me about it. Good thing it's not that important, or at least I don't think it is because I never used it before.

Sorry for your trouble but I think the VR problem is restricted to 330 sedans. My 335 sedan's VR works fine after the update and the only problem I have is RTTI.

It seems that the older E90/E92's (before RTTI was available) lose VR with the update. If you have a newer car, you lose RTTI.

My dealer was able to restore my VR by sending the CCC to BMW for reprogramming. I don't know the specific version installed, but it is at least Progman 25.00.

I just saw a post on another forum from an 07 530 owner that just got the 25.05 update.

He said his voice command was working, but that he didn't have RTTI and couldn't comment on that feature.

I actually lost RTTI and VC after I upgraded to 25.04 last week.

Man, we BMW drivers sure love our Taco Bell. I wonder if the POI search works on other restaurants, too?

See LEDZEP's post about POI search: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55052
