stuck accelerator pedal

I was driving normally today. As I approached a red light, I heel-toed to 2nd gear. But as I was re-engaging the clutch and letting go off the gas. I suddenly accelerated with my foot on the brake! I immediately disengaged the clutch and put it into neutral. Luckly I was able to pull into the left turn lane and not hit anybody. I came to a stop with my engine revving to red line.. turned off the engine as soon as I can.

Turns out i had a small piece of rock wedged between the gap thats there when you press the pedal.

I have the aluminum pedals installed. Anyone had this experience before?
just wanted to give you guys a warning out there.. keep your interior clean

Wow!! That sounds pretty dangerous! Glad to hear you and your car made it out safely...this is something I would 100% tell your dealer about and on top of that call BMWNA to let them know as well. I don't really see how a pebble could get in there and prevent the pedal from coming back up but it sounds like you managed to find a way!
