Missing Logo

Walked up to my car and noticed the hood logo was missing. So I started researching on how to replace it. Thats when I noticed that there should be two wholes where the new roundel should sit, but that's missing on my hood. Instead, I just have dry glueish substance. How should I replace this? I have attached the pic so you guys Know what I mean.

Btw- this is for a 328i

Your BMW Roundel ( logo as you called it) has come apart. That's the bottom half that is still on the hood. Carefully pry up the edge with a small putty knife or screw driver, or check the DIY section for various methods to remove the Roundel. Use a credit card or similar piece of plastic to protect the paint. Once you get it off, you'll see the two holes that should have rubber grommets in them. The grommets may stay on the small pegs of the Roundel. You can twist those off and reuse them if they are in good condition. If not you can buy these new from your dealer or on-line.

Follow instructions above and there are a lot of vendors that sell replacement roundels.

I wouldn't try to pry under the roundel. If it's the first time you're removing it, it will be tough to loosen it up. Thus why the roundel is gone and the mounting base is not.

Clean the rest of the residue off and get a suction cup that covers up to the 4 holes around the edge. Then just pull it off.

Thanks a lot guys I found a DIY and was able to get the old roundel off. But the left plastic pieces snapped. Now its stuck inside the hood. I guess pliers..

Any ideas?

You can leave the grommet in place and reuse it. Or if you are replacing both grommets, just pliers to take it out. It's easier when replacing the roundel to put the grommets in the holes first, and then press the roundel into the grommets. It'll stay in place just fine.
