How many of you guys got nailed in the hail storm?
yesterday? Just washed the car to see how bad I got hit. About 2 dozen spots scattered across the car - hood, roof, trunk, rear quarter. Some worse than others - some barely noticeable, others a good ding.
Couldn't friggin avoid it - stuck in traffic because of flooded roads, it just started coming down. Had no place to go. I was screaming in the car - had my daughter and two nieces in the car also - they were doing the same. Tried to find a tree to hide under, but by then, it was too late. I was in Mineola yesterday, btw, so that area was pretty bad, although not as bad as other areas. Was passed by an MB C-class with a busted out back window. |

Saw videos of Mineola. Was pretty bad. Heard a bunch of cars got their windows busted.

I thought I was good, too, when I checked the car after it stopped yesterday. After I washed it this morning, then I saw all the damage. Haven't checked the other car yet.

I was on the parkway at exit 89...got off that exit as soon as it started to hail and waited under the toll booth until it stopped....the people behind were not too happy, but u sometimes have to take one for the team so my car didn't get damaged.

I was on Marcus Ave in New Hyde Park where it hit the worst, it was like a movie scene hundreds of cars destroyed, people running around with wounds bleeding out. It was insane. My baby got destroyed-blew out back windshield, cracked the front one. Dents and dings-I counted 56 throughout the entire body I was devastated. I had a friend flat bed it to his shop. Approximate fix time including 6 day insurance adjustor wait = 3-4 weeks. Worst day.

I had a car a while back that I got caught in a hail storm, its definitely one of the worst things I have been through with a car...The aftermath of dings was unbelievable...Sorry to hear about anyone that got hit yesterday

I live in New Hyde Park and about 1 out of every 6 cars I saw had a busted front or rear windshield. My friend filed a claim on all 3 of his cars which were parked outside for dings and broken windshields. Another one of my friends picked up his 1m last week and it received 25 dings. Even worse was the traffic. I've been living here for 15 years and this was the worst traffic I've ever seen. Hope everyone made it out okay.

i was in Garden City when the storm hit. Noticed some small dings this morning on the hood. Not sure if worth going thru insurance. Maybe we can do a group Paintless Dent Removal deal!

My girl got lucky with hers. She was gonna park it outside instead of in the parking garage at work because of the concrete dust that mixes with the rain water, but said eff it. Lucky indeed as everyone on the roof and outside in the lot got beatda beatda up.

I rarely ever drive weekdays and Monday I decide to go to dealer, the one further away from my house cuz the tow cap was $10 cheaper there. Guess what...half way to my house rocks started falling down. I wanted to cry. I checked when I got home and didn't see any dings but maybe I didn't look good enough...I'll check tonight :/
