So I was vacuuming and it scratched the Wood trim in my car... great!

I read I can just use a fine polish like 3M Polish and Protector to get the scratches out, but my question is, (I'm a total newbie with any cleaning/polishing etc) what EXACTLY do I do?

In my head my plan is:

1) Buy something like 3M Polish and Protector or Mother's Plastic Polish

2) Put some on a Microfiber cloth, rub clockwise into the wood dash

3) Buff out the remaining residue with a towel clockwise as well

4) No scratches (hopefully)

Am I on the right track??

and it did nothing, did I get the wrong type of product?

How deep is the scratch ? I think you're on the right track of using the most mild polish ya can....perhaps you need to use a buffer instead of by hand.

Use POLYWATCH. Ive used it on mine and the scratches came out.

I've used Klasse AIO on wood trim and it helps remove fine swirl marks and brings the gloss back into the wood trim. You simply apply it by hand using anapplicator pad, then buff off with a microfiber towel.

Klasse AIO is primarily used for paint, but it's also a very flexible product as it also works great on other parts of the car, like your wood trim. Klasse claims it's non-abrasive chemical yet has some correction power.

can you post pic's of how deep the scratch is? for my wood trim i use to go over it with plastx but after awhile i stop caring cause the swirls just keep coming back. every now and then I just go over it with some wax or glaze to cover up the swirls.

if your talking about a deep scratch then perhaps you will need to machine polish it but i'm not too sure how to go about that.

+1 on AIO, works really well on wood and glass. When I use it It do the whole car glass, lights and paint. It can remove the mico marring from claying if you are careful.
