How long does the iDrive update take?

I brought in my car to have the iDrive updated, took it in about 11 am today, but still waiting on the phone call for completion.

Depends on howmuch needs updateing

Can take several hours to a day

The newer systems are faster and generally ony take a few hours

Will be great when they start making models with full Flexray systems, then it should take minutes to update

I have had three different cars with iDrive, and in all my experience a software update was either all day (8 hours), or left overnight.

What excuse did you make to get it updated? Or did you pay?
