fault codes after Downpipes installed with JB4
Hi guys, So I have been running catless dp for a week or so now, I keep getting SES light, so pulled codes, I get the following
2A2D can't find corresponding fault code... 29F4 Catalytic-converter conversion 29F5 Catalytic-converter conversion (bank2) 2AAF fuel pump plausibility there is one more code that i am not sure i read it correctly from my dash(i don't have usb cable and somehow my BT cable doesn't show any fault, I disable jb4 while i am reading codes using BT cable). it's either 1140 or 1440 my question is, are those codes normal for running catless? I didn't get any lamda codes so I assume JB4 downpipe fix is working fine? Thanks a lot |

Do you have autoclear on? (spedo=1 tach=3)

When you start the car up does it idle real ruff for about 10-30 seconds then all of a sudden become smooth? Reason I ask is that the o2 sensors have to be plugged back into the correct dp's or they will cause funky missfires during startup as the pcm monitors off of cylinder one.

+1 Turning on autoclear is the built in DP fix !! You have to enable it for it to work. The codes you are getting are right on par with having kittyless DP's. Turn on autoclear, and it won't take long for your ses light to turn off. If it stays on, your gonna need at the very least the USB cable for the jb4 so you can check and clear any existing codes.

Well, that's a yes.....and a no. Supposivly, with autoclear on, it keeps all the codes cleared all the time, but I'm not finding that to be true on my particular car. I have a 2EF7 code (something about the thermostat, but everything works totally fine) come up all the time.....even with autoclear enabled. I've seen most other codes cleared almost as soon as they appeared, but my particular code shows when you scan for codes using the JB4 interface on my laptop, and when checking codes using the spedo - tach method.
I'm starting to wonder if it only clears codes that it deems necessary, but by which criteria it's using, I have no idea. I think this would be an excellent question for Terry over @burgertuning, as he would be the man to know what's up.....and then some!!! You can email him without cringing, because he will email you back quickly......very quickly unless he's totally swamped. Sorry man, but that's about the limit of my knowledge on the subject!!
