Lease end inspection, tires...

Hi,

I was wondering when I return my car at lease end. What is the requirements on tires? The car came with runflats. Do the tires have to be exactly the same make? Can they not be run flats? Can they be slighlty of size (wider in the front)? What is BMWs thread wear requirment? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

When you bring in a lease, a service rep goes over the car with this little clear plastic guide thingy, i saw on ethe last time i was at the dealership. It has sizes for dinges, tread, scratches, if anything on the car is outside those limits then you pay. Best advice, drop by a dealer and photocopy the template so you can go over stuff yourself before you turn the car in.

I stand to be corrected, but I believe on a lease for most manufacturers, the tread depth has to be at least 7/32 or better. The leased vehicle I just turned in had different make tires on it and it didn't affect the turn in value at all.

My concern is: what if I turn in with tires that are not runflats? Or is that not allowed.

You need equal "grade and quality" to what the car originally came with, in other words, they don't need to be the same brand, but they need to be the same type (runflats, same speed rating, same size).
