BMW Dealer denies to mount non-OEM tires??

I bought two new non-run-flat Yokohama tires to replace my rear ones which have worn out and thought I would have the dealer mount them while I dropped the car for service. They denied due to supposed liability issues! The same dealer installed all four of the ones I currently have on two years ago!! Apparently this is a new thing.

The supposed senior advisor refered me to a Radial Tires store where they apparently have found a way to patch all run-flat tires!!

Has anyone run into this issue as well?

Just find somewhere else to mount them the stealership will charge too much anyways. Find somewhere that does touchless tire mounting if your worried about your rims

Did you happen to choose a different tire brand or model than is on the other end of the car? If so, keep in mind that some shops will not install mis matched tires due to liability issues.

A lot of shops will not install non-runflats due to liability issues. I guess to many idiots doing it to get cheaper tires and then blame the shop when they get a flat and don't have a spare to fix it. You can't fix stupid.

You are just going to have to do some asking around. I ran into the same issue when I replaced the front tires. Luckily my shop was willing to do and and also told me of an indy shop that would do it too.

Nope. I currently have Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 on all sides. Specs match exactly with the OE Bridgestone Potenzas the car had. Bought the Yokohamas from TireRack actually. I am replacing the rear ones with the same tires again.

Yep, I am going to an independant shop I found this morning. Dumb dealership has lost my business now! I have had tires mounted before by BMW and it was about the same price as the independant shop is asking.

I never use my stealership except for the few things nobody else can handle. Ex. New battery. Other than that, count me out
