Central Locking Jammed????
Need some help people,
I've searched the forum and cant find anything with the same symptoms as what my car is showing. Just been back from a drive, everything all good, parked up back home and pressed the LOCK button on the fob, I heard a weird noise like something was getting stuck so I went back to the car and now the drivers door is locked and all 3 other doors are unlocked. If I open the unlocked door the alarm goes off. I pressed the unlock button on the fob and the lights flash to indicate ive pressed it, but nothing happens, so I pressed lock again and nothing happens except the sound of a motor trying to engage but still nothing happens. So I've jumped back in through the passenger side door cause the drivers side now wont open and the car started fine, no problems, all settings the same (radio etc) and when I moved off the doors normally lock anyway, again I heard that sound but nothing happens with the locks. Went back home and stopped the engine at which point, when ejecting the keyfob, the doors should unlock but again, nothing. What do I need to replace and how much am I looking at? Any help really appreciated. Thanks |

It gets worse...
Just spent the evening driving over to see a friend and having used most of my petrol have now come to realise that the fuel flap is also locked! Luckily the petrol station is right near my house so I've managed to get home but ive got 50miles on the OBC and no way of filling up until I get this sorted. Having now messed around a bit more I can say that the only function the keyfob has when I press the unlock and lock button is the alarm arming and disarming. The boot will only open using the keyfob. The button on the dash doesnt do anything but sounds like its trying to. I've been in behind the glove box to the fuses but I'm not entirely sure what fuse number I should be looking for, is it 57 on 15amp?? Ane one had experience of this before? Thanks for reading. |

Ok so replacing fuse 57 did it for a while, now the locking works for all doors but opening only does passenger doors, drivers side remains locked. Tried replacing fuse 56 but this has made no difference.....
Am I looking at new door actuators? |

Sounds like the mechanism is gummed up, causing the actuator to draw more current and therefore blow the fuse. I'd take the door card off and check that the mechanism is free, lubricating where necessary. It's possible the extra load will have damaged the actuator, but if it was only run a few times, chances are it'll be OK.

remember there is an emergency filler-flap release in the boot.
