We were lucky enough to have a 1M come in yesterday for a test fitment for our N54 Intercooler. It fit like a glove. No major cutting needed, again for the 1 series you need to cut around the ambient air temperature sensor and smooth the area out. Same deal for the 1M. There is a little bit more plumbing in the way due to the extra radiator located in front of the driver side wheel well but nothing too bad. SO for all you 1M owners, (you lucky *&*@!('s

) you can now use the Helix Stepped core intercooler. Congrats!

Interesting. Is it just me or does it look like the intercooler has a lot of open room under it?

Maybe space for even more IC area?

1900 miles and the bottom of the front bumper is already scraped up...i'd be pissed!!

Eh its a beautiful car, but its a car none the less. At least its in a place you cant see.

The picture may be deceptive. The bottom cover needs to go in between the intercooler and front bumper which doesnt leave much room for more intercooler. Ours is big enough

They are in Philly.....the roads are almost as "good" as California

I know it is not for everyone but I like the little M stripes. Very subtle.

Now with the bigger IC that thing will be a true track beast - even in CA summers!!!

Helix, is the stock 1M intercooler identical to the rest of N54 intercoolers ? Or is it bigger ?

Nope, identical. I was expecting something different, but just like Helix it's a direct replacement.
