Tire Pressure / Flat Tire Question
So im drivin today doing about 40 mph on a normal road....when out nowhere on my navigation screen thing says that i got a flat tire so im like wtf?
Luckily i got run-flats, but it says that the tire pressure in my tires isnt right I go out to check and theres like a bulb on my front pass. side tire. So now i cant go over 50 mph And im getting brand new OEM run flats on may 7th, but i have to drive 120 miles for them.....already paid for and everything So what do i do now? Go to a gas station, put the pressure thing to 30 and just put air in my tire? Do i go to bmw and have them charge me like 100 bucks to do that? I really have no idea....somebody please help me out Thanks in advance |

If you're getting new run flats on May 7th, then I'd just put more air in it and go slow until then. In fact, I would just goto a local tire shop and get it patched. Should have no problem lasting until May 7th if it's just a bubble and not a cut on the side wall. The tire repair guys would be able to help you.

It is a stupid concept isn't it.
You get a puncture, you've got to wait however long for a tire to come into stock then drive 120 miles to get it. All this at a speed limit of 50mph and a range limit of somewhere between 30 and 150 miles depending on the load your are carrying. We all need Ultraseal now (as used by the US Marines and NASA's moon buggy) to protect our tires from most punctures, 150mph speed limit and 40,000 mile range. Of course if we had this stuff in our tires we would not need run-flat technology. So thats me, standard tires + Ultraseal. For now you could use one of those tire gel products adn re-inflate the tire to give you the extra range you need. Holts make one for 40mph speed limit, Wynns do one with a 50mph speed limit. Not sure which of these is available in the USA. |
