Saw this customer video posted today testing the JB4 2-step and thought some here might like to hear it. You can set the RPM in dash and in this case he has set it to 3500rpm.

It doesn't sound like it has that much authority on the N54 platform, if u hear this on an EVO or any Civic it sounds like grenades going off... these are just corny sputters.

Sound of your car ending like a crap box, evos sound much better ..maybe if he made it anti lag style with some popped and flames ,the. I would consider having the 2 step activated for some fun and some occasional off track e events .

This is my first time hearing of a "2-step" in automotive terms...

Once we get into big turbo builds that cannot launch because they just bog then I can see this making a big splash. However with the amount of 1.8s 60ft's I have seen from a RWD car and open diff, I do not think many stock turbo N54's have that issue...
However I could see this beneficial for us manual cars. Will definitely help in consistency when it comes to launching. If someone ever throws a secondary rail onto this engine that program will have some fireworks

Supra 2step sounds good. Haven't heard any evos do it. In person it sounds much better... I just hate to see BMWs considered in the "rice" category

2 step is a launch control. If you have ever been to the drag strip and you see or hear cars on the line backfiring while standing still it's more than likely because they have 2 step or some type of launch control.

Is this feature now built into new JB4s? I will be buying a tune soon. I'm leaning towards a PROcede (@ double the price!) due to: timing control, pwm, 2 step, and no-lift-shift. I know bms has already tackled the pwm issue. |
