For cleanest factory like install:
You need to get the appropriate multi function buttons for use with paddle shifters - around $97 from Tischer (paddles shifters plug into your MFB - non paddle shift car MFB do not have this capability) & you need to get the wiring harness from either MotiveMods ($169.99) or Burger Tuning ($199.99) that runs from the backside of your steering clock spring to the shifter mechanism in center console. -Or- If you're confident in doing some of your own wiring, search for the DIY on forum and you can make your own wiring for both. Installing in this manner will bypass the MFB buttons (you will not have to buy new ones) and you will make your own harness from steering column to shifter. No coding necessary to get the paddles to work after wiring mods are done.

Actually, it's really not that bad at all, I chose to go the 1st route using the factory parts simply because I don't like 'custom' wiring, but both work equally well. Installing the wiring harness from column to shifter is not that big of a deal...
It wasn't any more difficult than the retrofit of the autodimming/compass/homelink mirror in my car which also entailed using a factory wiring adapter harness.
