E36 M3

I have decided on an E36 M3, between the years of 1998-99. Now do you guys see any decent cars out there.

I love the E36 M3, great car, had one myself. With that said, E36 M3s in the US do not have M engines. Consider that when you make your decision unless you want to throw a E46 3.2 in there which would be amazing.

Just a friendly thought - you may also want to consider sharing your decision in a forum specifically intended for discussing the E36 M3. This forum is really only for the E9x m3 (with a small, low traffic E46 section).

O hai, this is a general BMW forum. Don't mind me in my 135i or our friends that drive Z, X, 3, 5, 6, and 7 series.

OP-try bimmerforums.com also known as e36m3fanboihaven.com. If I could afford to have two cars I would have never sold mine. You won't be disappointed! It may not have a "real M engine" but it does the job just fine. Just an FYI, the '96-'99 model years were 95% the same. The only differences I can think of are the addition of rear headrests and the three spoke steering wheel to later models. If you can afford it and don't mind the hassle, you should consider importing one from Europe with the "real" M engine. They go for dirt cheap over there.

Yeah, hi there. So guess what? He originally posted this in the M3Post forum. Then the moderators moved it here, where it is more appropriate. So, I was trying to be helpful. But, I understand you getting your feathers a little ruffled. It happens all the time. Even though I was clearly just trying to be helpful, the first instinct is for people to assume I am trying to be a d***. It happens all the time both on forums and on the road so I'm used to it.

Cheers

find a good low miles one if possible. even if low miles, make sure you either have the $$ to upgrade the cooling and suspension or make sure its already been addressed.

I love mine, going to take it for a joy ride right now actually. Boosting to 16psi w a grin on my face
