1. You're going to chew up your track tires fast, save your street tires for the street 2. 189s are heavy! 3. Square setup will reduce oversteer and provide more balance than staggered. |

You could run 18x8.5 square and 255/35 all around too. I'm running 255/35 up front with no rubbing at all.

Since I have PS2's and SS's on for street tires and have tracked with them, I'll say they are quite nice. For the money though, going with R'S-3's or Direzzas makes more sense IMO... |

...this is just my opinion... I would probably hold off on buying R spec tires as they might hide some other mistakes being made on the track. The first upgrade you might want to look into would be suspension, either coil overs or MAYBE sways. (Sways without a LSD might be a little sketchy). If you get sways first, you can dial out a fair amount of the cars natural understeer. Good coilovers can help you dial in the suspension just the way you like it. What you might even want to do is get the coilovers and get them good and dialed in, then take them to your trusted suspension guy and have them revalved so that your perfect setting becomes the "midway" point on all the adjustments. Just a thought. Once you've done that, then you could probably look into killer R tires. Listen to what meepster said, it's good advice. For now, you could get a pair of rear 189's and run 4 of them in a square setup on the track until you're ready to start adding more things. Trust me, you will get hooked and you will start adding more things. It can't be helped, accept this as it is undeniable. ;-) Last edited by BMWsky; 09-01-2011 at 12:07 PM.. |

I love my PSS. I only track about 5 times a year, so I couldn't justify purchasing a seperate set of wheels/tires for dedicated track use. So if this is your situation, I would highly recommend them.

Would be great if someone could compare the Dunlop SS to the Hankook RS 3.
