Yes. The H&R sport springs for xi can be paired with Bilstein sport shocks. I run this setup for my xi and it's fine.

I'm curious to hear your opinion as well. This is something I've been debating about as I've heard the xdrive cars experience front CV joint wear at a much faster rate when lowered as well as the camber being altered out of spec. This may just be hearsay, just curious to see if you (or anyone else for that matter) has heard of anything along these lines.

Haven't heard this and I'm sure folks who've been running this type of spring/shock setup longer term can chime in. H&R and Bilstein specifically designed these parts for the xi suspension so I would imagine there wouldn't be too many ancillary problems due to swapping out spring/shocks.

As far as how it rides...I love the driving dynamics now. Less body roll and the suspension feels more "planted" and less "boaty." Aesthetic wise I'm happy with the drop for the most part: the rear sits nice but as you will hear from other xi's with this setup the front doesn't drop enough (thereby that freaking rake never goes away) - another 1/2 inch and I would have been happier. Nonetheless, it's still looks and handles MUCH better.

A lot of people opt for coils...there's pros and cons to that setup as well. It's personal preference.
